OCT spectral engine

BaySpec

BaySpec, Inc., a world leader in advanced spectroscopy solutions, is pleased to announce the successful outcome of a collaboration on a new OCT spectral engine that allows up to three times greater collection efficiency than standard Czerny-Turner spectrographs, while offering 10x the signal/noise ratio improvement in detector sensitivity.

BaySpec's DeepView Spectrograph, designed for the expanding spectral domain-optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) market, provides high throughput spectral measurements in an ultra compact package and factory calibrated for long-life and low-cost of ownership.

Based around e2v's family of SD-OCT Aviiva EM4 detector array cameras and BaySpec's high throughput Volume Phase Gratings (VPG) DeepView spectrographs, the OEM instrument offers price/performance benefits whilst also providing 10x full well capacity resulting in the industry leading 68dB dynamic range.

Eric Bergles, VP Sales & Marketing of BaySpec, said; "The performance-price of this system opens up doors in doctor's offices, allowing them to purchase cost effective equipment. We also expect this breakthrough to lead to a host of new industrial applications."

Frédéric Devriere, e2v's imaging division product manager at e2v, said; "The combination of expertise in this dedicated system has already raised great interest and will make SD-OCT even more powerful and accessible to the research community and the industrial markets".
